Purenco’s WEC can be used for producing electric power to the grid. The winch machinery outputs raw hydraulic power, which is smoothed hydraulically by means of an accumulator, and then powers a hydraulic motor (turbine) and a generator.
Offshore wave farms with Purenco’s point absorbers, with a total capacity per farm of several MW, can become an important contribution to meet the world’s demand demand for more clean electric power.
